Significance of title: The title of this blog is a reference to the great Percy Jackson. He is my all time favorite fictional character. He has also influenced my writing and passion for literature. The riptide signifies his most prized possession: his sword (Anaklusmos). When he is in the mortal world the sword is a pen. My riptide is my fingers. I type today because of them.
